Why does the “sleep” function on my alarm clock only activate for 59 minutes? I enjoy sleeping in longer, but the 59 minutes annoys me because the manufacturers of these alarm clocks set them for 59 minutes as opposed to the full one hour. Can ne1 shed any light??
You get 59? Most people only get 9. Reason: When they were making mechanical alarm clocks, things weren’t so accurate. They felt good giving you 59 minutes and change instead of trying for an even hour. When digital clocks came along, they could be accurate to the minute. But they had been making clocks that give you 59 mins as a sleep for so long they didn’t think about changing things. Hope that helps. BTW, Cecil did this one.
