Alex Jones gets cyber-slapped

No, I just pay attention. ‘optics’ is the alt-rights own term.

And fuck you to hell for putting me in the same bucket as a misogynistic, bigoted, homophobic coward like Alex Jones.

The fact that you resort to that tactic shows a lot about your lack of both standing and morals.

“Politically correct”, huh? So, you think people should be allowed to be intimidated out of their rights of free speech and free assembly? Because of lie-incited “nuts”?

Hide behind sneering about political correctness as a way to avoid engaging the issue and confronting your own ignorance all you want. The 1st Amendment is a little more than that though.

Yes I’m still waiting for that time when someone really lays one on me. Hasn’t happened.

Relax. I had no idea what you were on about with this “optics” and “they”. Sounds like some CT stuff.

Well it does matter, but if FB would have just said, “Look, this guy is an asshole, so we are kicking him out. If you don’t like it, suck it up.” I would appreciate that much better.

YouTube and Apple may have claimed to have banned Jones, but they still have the Infowars app on their app stores.

No need for the sanctimony, bud. I’m simply a pragmatic individual. I don’t need that noise in my life, so I wouldn’t advise others to put themselves out there.

I’m not at all surprised you disagree. Out of curiosity, do you think all non-permissive laws are authoritarian?

For christsakes just Google him. His worst stuff is his hate bantering on his daily rant, not his “speeches”. He’s on for 2 hours per day and goes on and on with conspiracy theories and crazy talk.

By the way for anybody who hasn’t read it, the Rational Wiki article on Jones is hilarious, and confirms my earlier post that he is total scum.

I’m not sure what non-permissive means, so I can’t say for sure. I’d rather take them on a case-by-case basis.

Alex Jones has now been banned from YouPorn (yes, that’s right) and Pinterest. I have no idea why he would be on Pinterest. I wonder if he’s on etsy.

The result is the same, so why does it matter? Are your fee-fees hurt, snowflake?

Ah, now it is sanctimony. You are doing an admirable job of avoiding confronting the content of what is said to you.

Your position remains that people whose children were murdered should just STFU because some liar on the internet is inciting a bunch of idiots to harass them. YOU don’t need the noise? It is to laugh.

I don’t think it is that hard to figure out, but that’s fine, you seem to have your hands full defending one of the scummiest people in the USA today. #MAGA

‘They’ being white nationalists. Both of the conspiracy theorists and neo-nazi form.

It has ben a long movement with lots of offshoots, but always at least loose collaboration and a shared library of crackpot books.

You may believe in the lluminati, but sometimes ‘they’ is used in the normal form.

He has the bestest supporters! One of whom counters the “private companies are not subject to 1st Amendment” argument with :

Followed by the SEC registration of Facebook as a publicly traded company :smack:

They can’t be this stupid, can they?* This is all just parody, a right-wing Onion piece. Right? Please?

Og, I’m begging, make it stop.

*Yeah, I know they can be. And it makes me very, very sad.

While I **really **don’t wanna know why he was on YouPorn. shudder

Only the government is subject to the 1st amendment, and it doesn’t matter if it is a public or private corporation.

Individuals do not lose their other rights for exercising another, so even if the government was involved here it wouldn’t matter. There is no free speech right to even invoke here but as people do not lose their freedom of speech when they choose to exercise their freedom of assembly it wouldn’t matter anyway.

To be fair both sides want to toss other peoples rights away when it fits their cause. Re: citizens united, which is a case of my fellow progressives trying to get rid of fundamental rights because we are bad at organizing.

Read this thread from the beginning. You’ll only need a few of Farnaby’s posts to answer that.

Because Google is hard, apparently:

Why are you against the free market deciding whether Alex Jones gets a monetized platform to spew his vile shit everywhere?
