This article is saying that Matt Lauer may be the new Jeopardy host.
I can’t imagine anyone pulling it off with the same smug knowitallness of Alex Trebek and his perfect foreign pronunciations.
Trebek is expected to step down in 2016. I can’t believe it. I feel…I don’t know…he has always been there, having all the answers. And he seems in top form, too. He looks young and vibrant. I hope he doesn’t really retire. I hope this is just him trying to do a true daily double in negotiations with his contract.
If that smug ass foreigner, with his stupid face and retarded butt, leaves maybe I’ll start watching Jeopardy. I’ll give Matt Lauer a chance but if he tries to pretend to be an Alex clone then his stupid face can go to heck.
If you mean “perfect”, sure. He overdoes them most of the time.
He’s had at least 2 heart attacks, the last one last year and will be 76 in 2016. That’s getting pretty long in the tooth. It’s credible he’s thinking of calling it quits.
On the one hand, Alex is a very good host, and one of the longest-running game show hosts in history. It’d be hard to imagine watching Jeopardy! without him hosting.
On the other hand, if he retires and is replaced I could go back on, as could any of the show’s former contestants.
I forgot to link it dammit. And I found it on fark and can’t remember the website the article was on. And I’m on my phone now. Sorry. I’ll link it when I’m home at my pc
That’s what the producers told me at the time, maybe it’s different now. Several of the Art Fleming-era contestants have been on the Trebek Jeopardy! as contestants though.
I don’t think so. I believe the '60s incarnation was pretty much considered a different show – for one thing, there had been a period of X years where it was off the air. A new host wouldn’t make this a completely different show.
