ALIEN 5? What Happens When Sigourney (and Her Alien) Reach The Earth?

I can’t wait for this one…imagine, these mucus-dripping, multi-fanged horrors reaching the earth! Imagine everybody waking up to find little alien embryos inside them!
When can we expect the “ULTIMATE” conclusion of the sries? Or is Sigourney gettin too old to be running around in her underwear, persued by aliens?
Why haven’t the aliens reached earth yet? It seems those evil scientists wouldlikenothing more than to host the aliens…let meknow if a sequel is in the works!

Alien 5? They’d have to make 3 and 4 first.

They already made Aliens 3.

Three was a riot but four kinda sucked plot-wise.

They did! alien 3 came out in 1992, and Alien: Resurrection came out in 1997. I don’t know whether they’ll ever make #5, but I have heard speculation that if they did, they’d come to earth.

Whoops, missed the other two postings that mentioned 3 and 4. I could’ve sworn they weren’t there a minute or two ago…

I don’t know what you people are talking about.

They never made a movie after Aliens.

I think Silentgoldfish was implying that, like many of us, 3 and 4 may exist in some sort of bizzare parallel universe, but for fans of the first two they have only a middling association with the franchise and aren’t actually a continuation of the story. In other words:

LA LA LA LA LA LA… There’s only TWO Alien movies!! LA LA LA LA LA… I CAN’T HEAR YOU!!!

Alien 5 would work best as a short film. Like so:

Long shot of the Sulaco’s hypersleep capsules. Panning shots of empty corridors, then the cargo bay with lingering sweeps over the acid scarring from the Queen-Bitch vs. Exoskeleton Ripley battle.

Indicator lights flashing green, and hypersleep capsules popping open. RIPLEY and NEWT sit up, rubbing their eyes and looking around.

NEWT: (looking pissed) Okay, dreaming all the way home really sucked. We should have skipped that.

RIPLEY: Sorry, Newt.

BISHOP: Excuse me. Am I correct in thinking that you didn’t think to freeze my legs?

Roll credits.

Hrmmm… do many people really feel that Alien3 did not continue the story adequately? I can agree with all criticism to Resurrection but I am baffled at criticism of Alien3.

I felt it was a beautiful conclusion, to paraphrase Ripley “You’ve been with me for so long I cannot remember a time before you…” or some such sentiment.

Drastic - Brilliant!

I also really liked Alien 3, despite the fact that they killed off two of the lead characters from Aliens in the first few minutes. I thought it was a ballsy way to start the movie, and frankly more realistic. *Alien 3 * managed to establish its own style, separate from the other two. And I really liked Charles Dutton. There were a few really bad lines in it (“We’re crud,” comes to mind), but overall I thought Alien 3 was very good.

Sadly, you and I seem to be in the minority, MeanJoe. Many hardcore Aliens fans hate the third one.

The fourth one, I must agree, seemed pointless. I hope the fifth one is better, maybe something like Aliens: Earth War would be good… even without the Sam Keith artwork.

What do you mean by “her” alien? Ripley has some alien DNA (and attendant physical enhancements, apparantly) but it’s not like she has an alien tucked away in a fanny pack.

I always thought a good Alien movie would deal with the fact that all the Aliens we’ve seen so far was from those eggs in the first movie that had been in suspended animation for maybe thousands or millions of years. While these eggs were inert, the Alien race that laid them could have been evolving.

I would like to see the Aliens that continued to evolve.

Adequately? How about not at all. There is no Alien 3. It does not exist.

Am i the only one who thinks Alien 3 was not that bad? It was indeed inferior to the rest, but not the travesty everyone says it was. I think it was superbly directed and they were brave enough to really put in a lot of gore when that could have backfired on them. It is certainly not Fincher’s fault though: His vision of the movie was deemed to expensive so he was forced to make do.
And im presuming the ‘No alien 3’ post above is a joke to reflect your disdain for the movie…take it easy

Alien 5 = Alien vs. Predator

Done deal as I understand it . . .

Yeah, I too actually enjoyed the third one. It was humorous, which for me is key to a good scary movie. Charles Dance and Pete Postlewaite always brighten the screen.

Sorry if I don’t measure up to the purists…

Nah. That’s different. Ridley Scott wants to make Alien 5. Alein vs. Predator is being directed by someone else. Cite.

Alien 3 was bad but I think Alien:Resurrection was better. For one thing it had Winona Ryder in it and I like her.
