Alien was a popular film, and now has a zillion spinoffs in novels, comics, and movies. Theyve sold a lot of Alien merchandise, but I’m amazed at some of the things they’ve marketed:

The guy wears this underwear and it appears as if his penis is the part of the facehugger that goes into the throat of the victim. Virtually guaranteed to not get your romantic partner interested in role-playing
5.) Alien-snail hybrid – What if the facehugger attacked escargot?

When I saw that this toy was available in 1979, I thought it was interesting that a toy made from a Rated R horror movie was made for kids.
NGL. I considered this for a hot second. I already feel like I’m in an Alien movie with my CPAP - as one of the engineers. CPAPs, however necessary, are a drag. Anything that makes them more fun is OK in my book.
They also made plastic models of the “Bugs” from Starship Troopers as kids’ toys, even though that was rated “R”, too.
And they never , to my knowledge, made or marketed a single action figure from John Carter Warlord of Mars. They set that film up to fail.
