all day everyday for you james

I think that’s the slogan, I’ve seen on the back windows of some cars recently. THere is one near my house that I’ve seen for over a year now…I just thought it was some personal memorial the car owner had to someone named James.

However,

in the last two days, I’ve seen two more cars with the same slogan. So apparently “James” has left quite an impression on the local populace (Madison, Wisconsin) or its some pop culture trend thing I’m not familiar with, or something along the lines of “friend of Bill” indicating a kinship to some mysterious club.

What gives with this slogan?

Google turns up this myspace page, but unfortunately I can’t get to myspace from work.

The google blurb mentions that it’s a memorial from his friends.

To expand this a little, when did the car window memorials begin? I never saw them until I moved to Lancaster, PA, five years ago. Now it seems like every sixth car has flowers on the rear ledge and a message soaped into the rear window “RIP Jamal We miss u!” or something like that.

Thanks
