I live near Dayton. Work in Cincinnati.
I’m from Ashville, Ohio. It’s a small town about 25 miles from Columbus.
Any Trojans out there? (Troy, Ohio - just north of Dayton).
Ahh, Pebble Creek. A bunch of kids from my plat used to hang out with a bunch of kids in yours. Most of them lived down toward the end of the street, where it intersected…uh…Turnbull. I used to have some friends that lived on Harry Truman and Yalta.
I grew up in Spicer Hights, you know, right off of Kemp, between N. Fairfield and Grange Hall, with Shaw Elementary and Idle Hour pool.
FTR: I lived there in the 70’s and 80’s, so if you went to St. Lukes or Carroll in the 80’s (or Beavercreek, I suppose), we might very well know each other.
Grew up in Zanesville. Moved the hell out as soon as I turned 18. Except for occasional visits to the homeland to visit the family, haven’t been back since.
I do miss the place, though. Sometimes. Not really that often when you think about it.
Thinksnow, I went to St.Lukes for 7th and 8th grade, and Carroll my freshman year before going to Beavercreek High. I would have been at St.Lukes 85 and 86, and Carroll in 87.
Narile, odds are pretty high we know each other. I went to St. Lukes 3-8, went to Carroll in '87. Graduated in '91. If you lived in Pebble Creek, we almost assuredly road the same bus from St. Lukes, along with Matt Fry, Elizabeth Cahegas (sp?), Shannon Duffy, etc.
[whole lot of detail deleted, if ya’ wanna know, email me]
I was born in Waterville - a little town right outside of Toledo. Spent the first 13 years of my life there before moving to Louisiana. Would love to go back and visit but have long lost touch with anyone there.
Wonder how much I would recogonize?
After growing up in baltimore, going to college in boston and liviing in pittburgh, peekskill and then nycity for 15 years, I have lived happily in shaker heights ohio for 20 plus years.
I love the people, the luxuriant foliage, the dignified style of life, the ease of commuting and the cultural opportunities. Also, getting away from n.y. street noise was a blessing.
and high in the middle?
O HI O
I was really happy to read that. I know people that move here and do nothing but bitch that there’s nothing to do and blah, blah, blah. Well, you know what? Life is what you make it.
Sure, I can bitch about the rush-hour traffic in Dayton, but what is it - a half an hour inconvience. Nothing like Chicago, or LA, or NY, etc.
I live 20 miles from where I work and it takes me 20 minutes to get there - I like it like that.
And, I like the way people end their sentences with prepositions… you know what I’m talking about.
Born in Cleveland, early childhood spent in Chagrin Falls.
Oh, and this goes for my brother, tpayne, who also posts here.
Born and raised in Parma, Ohio, but I’m getting over it. I now live on the far east side of Cleveland, just off of the Case Western Reserve University campus, two blocks from Severence Hall and three from the art museum.
I be gettin’ my culture on!

Checking in…
I was born and raised in the Avon/Avon Lake. For the last 11 years I’ve been in the NE Columbus area.
A Dublin meeting sounds good. Flanigans perhaps? (just tossing out suggestions)
Gotta make sure the out of towners that come are taken to see the ‘Field Of Corn’. I love taking people by that thing just to see the WTF? expression on thier faces.
I gots goodley gramar, aren’t I ?
Heck with it, you knew what I meant…
johnny fishface: youre neighbor is Krispy!
Hmm, I was born in Strongsville and grew up mostly there, Bedford, and then Fort Worth, TX for a few years. Now I’m usually in either Kent or the Cleveland/Lakewood area. I hope to be leaving Ohio again in a few months though.
Gee. No Warren-ites. Well, I’m one. Though I live in Phoenix now, I’m always pleased to identify myself as an Ohioan. And I really, really miss the Channel 43 WUAB Tribe broadcasts!
Thinksnow, I usually hung out with Brett Spears, Jamie Bumgardner, and Jim Martin. I lived on the end of Pebblecreek near N. Fairfield, third house, the brown one (Now grey).
Vanilla I hope you’re talking about a person and not the endomorphic Cretins that are my actual neighbors.
