All hail Sandra Bullock (and not for her acting or her looks)

I’m a fan of Linkin Park’s music, and I’ve always been rather impressed with their behavior, so this makes me happy. Especially when you consider that even the most popular musicians don’t make the kind of money you’d expect considering their level of fame.

So kudos to Ms. Bullock, the gentlemen in Linkin Park, and all those who gave so generously to the tsunami relief.

Steven Spielberg has donated 1.5 million.

Michael Schumacher, the race car driver (Formula One I think, and I hope I spelled his name right), donated 13 million dollars!!! One of his bodyguards and his children died in the tsunami, so he had a personal tie to it, but…good grief. Go Mr. Schumacher.

Where is Leonardo Di Caprio and all the others involved in the filming of ‘The Beach’?

To echo TeaElle, DiCaprio donated a “sizeable” amount, and specified it be put to use in Thailand. Link.

While Sandra Bullock’s donation is certainly a good thing, perhaps some other celebrities chose not to publicize their contributions. Sandra Bullock may have felt that making a public donation would goad other celebrities and non-celebrities into donating, but others may choose to donate anonymously or at least quietly.

That’s great of her. You really do have to wonder why you don’t hear of this happening very often…I mean, yeah, it’s their money, they earned it, but many celebrities have way, way more than they’ll ever know what to do with. Case in point: Mel Gibson bought a private island and it’s not like he’s gone broke. If one can afford to toss away all that money on something so extravagant, imagine the good they could do with it!! If I had that much, I’d totally give some to people who were really needy. But that’s just me.

disclaimer: this is not anything against Mel Gibson. He doesn’t bother me. Just an example.

That’s nothing. Our fearless leader has donated a cool TEN GRAND!!!

Oh, wait . . .

So he goes without coke for a week. I’m supposed to be impressed?

Hmm. Maybe she DID donate the money naked. Maybe she was on her laptop in bed naked and she donated one MILLION dollars to the Red Cross online!

I like Sandra Bullock. She’s a girl’s girl.

Hideki Matsui donated $500,000

Good on Sandra, I’ve always liked her, now more so. Class act.

10 grand? The BASTARD!

Ya wanna go partisan on the issue, where are the Heinz-Kerrys’ donation?
(a quick and lazy google finds nothing,if there’s better info, I will sit corrected.)
It’s help, no matter how you cut it.
