You know, I have just about all the patience and understanding in the world for people in the fast-food service industry, being one of them myself for many a year. Once I gave a waitress at Denny’s a 100% tip after the patrons next to me refused to pay for five meals (it was 3:00 A.M., I was on business, there were all of three people working in the entire restaurant and apparently something must have just let out because the place was completely packed… needless to say, service was slow and the brunt of the agression was laid at the feet of the lone waitress).
But really, I was JUST trying to point out the overcharge, Arbys. I wouldn’t have even noticed it had I not asked for a receipt (I was on business of the state of Oklahoma). I had asked for a simple combo, and you had charged me for each item separately. It was all told an extra 63 cents, and I just wanted to point it out so that maybe it wouldn’t happen again when it really mattered.
No, you had to take this personally. How on earth could YOU, a recent hiree, POSSIBLY have made a mistake when it was all punched into the register? CLEARLY there could not have been one if it was all on the receipt, right? OBVIOUSLY I just didn’t know how their system worked, and I really should have been charged $5.80 for a $4.79 combo in a city with 8.25% sales tax (I actually knew this at the time, having just discussed sales taxes with the city’s mayor).
GOD DAMN IT, THE SUB-TOTAL ON THE GOD DAMNED RECEIPT IS SUPPOSED TO EQUAL THE SUM OF WHAT I ORDERED BEFORE THE GOD DAMNED SALES TAX!!! IF YOU ADVERTISE A COMBO FOR $4.79, THAT IS WHAT IT SHOULD READ FOR A SUB-TOTAL!!! IF YOU HADN’T BEEN A BITCH, I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO CALL THE MANAGER OVER THERE TO HAVE HER SHOW YOU HOW YOU WERE * SUPPOSED TO DO IT IN THE FIRST PLACE, ALL FOR A MEASELY SIXTY-THREE CENTS!!!*
Now all those pennies are back in my possession, and not claimed as an expense to be paid by the state. You’re probably one of those types that bitches at every opportunity at government waste, so I suppose you ought to be happy with that.
You’ll have to excuse me, this is my first Pit rant…
