All of my videos are upside-down and switched left to right.

Why is this? It is driving me nutty.

Quit walking on your hands!

Har, har, har.

I think that I might have receantly downloaded poor video codec’s. How would I correct this?

Does this help? Windows Media 8 Encoder GUI

Well, this wasn’t about what I was hoping it was about, namely:
purchased videos (not the ones I tape, but like when I buy an official copy of STAR WARS at a store) are all stored upsidedown! That is, the cardboard box container opens at the bottom. So, if I put the videos in my cabinet standing up (so that the pictures on the box are right-side up), the video falls out of the bottom of the box when I left it up. Hope I’m being clear on this.

Why the heck do the commercial videos come with the opening on the bottom??

C K Dexter Haven: It’s so they can put their logo, if not some other graphic which is prettier than an adhesive cassette label, on both vertical sides! With a little practice, it’s not difficult to take hold of one of these sleeves without its guts slipping out.

A few of my roommate’s Simpsons episodes started doing that after he upgraded to XP. If your misbehaving files are divx, you may want to make sure you have the newest divx/opendivx codecs… or if you have also upgraded to XP, try running the old media player (start|run|mplayer2).

Your monitor’s upside-down, ya’ goofball!

Oh no wait, that wouldn’t account for the mirror imaging. Hold it, I know! You’re monitor’s upside-down… and it’s an Israeli monitor! ;j
