All of the sudden it seems the Opera browser and YouTube do not like each other very much.

Recently the Opera browser and YouTube seem to be disagreeing with one another.

Often but (oddly) not always, when I click to go Full Screen the screen fills up behind the rest of the page. The Title/Description Box stays where it is (under what would have been the space for the small screen player) and the list of suggested videos on the right side column stays exactly where it had been. The Full Screen player plays behind all of this.

I can copy and paste the URL to bring up the exact same video with Firefox then click Full Screen and there’s no problem. It’s only a problem with Opera.

More puzzling is that it is not the case with every video. There are some videos for which Full Screen works fine on Opera. I have not been able to determine anything to distinguish videos that will work from videos that will not work.

Also, I had not encountered this problem until this week (I do not remember updating Opera in the past week, but I may have).

Any idea what’s going on here?

I’m running 12.00 with no problem there.

Check on things like plug-ins and ad blockers. Some video-related plug-ins and user scripts don’t work with all versions of Opera.
