All right, FedEx, where is our furniture?

Three boxes from two companies, 337 pounds total. Where did your driver put them? Certainly not at our front door at 6:15 PM like the tracking info says! Not at the front door of our building either, 'cause the building has no front door. They’re not at the property manager’s front door, either; I checked. I also called him this morning to be certain.

After talking to the property manager, I called FedEx and they’re running a trace. Did the driver leave 'em on the truck rather than drag 'em upstairs? Or were they simply left wherever and one of our neighbors said, “Hey, free furniture!”? Stay tuned…

New furniture, huh? Things must be looking up at Casa de Conejos Calientes.

Years ago there was a nice looking sofa left in the hallway of my apartment building. My GF was eyeing it, thinking that if no one claimed it in 24 hours, she would snag it. After all, it was just sitting there with no one’s name on it. Within 15 minutes, someone else had the same idea and started moving it into their apartment.

Just before they finished, someone came off of the elevator with some boxes. They were moving in, and that was their sofa.

You might want to knock on some doors.

Christmas bonus, essentially.

WTH?

This complex has something like 141 units spread across twenty buildings. We’ll ask the property manager to put flyers on all the bulletin boards if FedEx doesn’t come through.

With 141 units I’m sure at least one of your neighbors did a little Xmas shopping in the complex.

Apparently people thought it was abandoned. But who abandons stuff in hallways?

Decided to check the trash rooms for boxes. Turned out FedEx left our stuff in the stairwell next door!

When it absolutely, positively has to be stashed somewhere nearby.

Hey, they delivered it. You actually expected them to delivery them to some specific address? Pardon me, your majesty!

Right. What was I thinking?

Next time I order more than one piece of furniture, I’ll try to time it so they don’t arrive on the same day.

One of our upstairs neighbors volunteered to help bring the boxes up. We’re planning to invite him & his family over for dinner in the near future.
