I love his acting, but his role choices perplex me.
Yeah, I agree. He really doesn’t seem to pick wisely. When he’s good though, he’s a fine, fine actor.
I like the Muppets, at least up to about 2000 or so, but I don’t know if other people don’t like them or if they’ve just fallen off the collective radar.
I’ve been known to put ranch dressing on steak, so, so yummy. (Now I expect the food snobs to start dry heaving.)
I just wet-heaved. Who the hell taught you how to eat?
My confession is ABBA. I think they were great, and I have never been able to admit this to real people. You intertubes people aren’t real, so I can admit whatever I want.
The Deuce Bigalow movies. Both of them.
There is NOTHING wrong with liking the Muppets!!!
And I read on IMDB there is a brand new Muppet movie, with Amy Adams and Jason somebody coming out on Thanksgiving this year! (waves spindly green arms in air, “yaaaayyyyy!”). The movie is cleverly titled “The Muppets”. yaaaayyy!!!
…Yes, Dear.
I’m not sure how admitting you like the original Van Halen lineup could possibly be considered embarrassing.
Now, if you were admitting you liked the Gary Cherone lineup, then you might be on to something… (note: I am NOT admitting I like the Gary Cherone lineup).
I preferred the version with Sammy Hagar. He’s a hell of a lot better singer than David Lee Roth, and Dreams is their best song.
There are good, solid reasons ABBA remains one of the best selling groups of all time.
And I treasure my lack of reality.
I liked Blues Brothers 2000. It was almost as good as the first one, and on par with the first for the musical numbers. I really really don’t get why this keeps showing up on lists of worst sequels ever, aside from the people who never even SAW the film and just brushed off John Goodman as trying to be John Belushi (which was NOT the case).
Mechanics-wise, Heroes IV was the best of the HOMM series. And Echoes was the best of the Prime trilogy.
Friends is my all-time favorite sitcom. I know, I know…it was wildly popular during its run, but usually draws a lot of sneers from self proclaimed highbrow comedy snobs. No, it wasn’t edgy or anything, but it was well cast, well written, and well acted.
I loved Back To The Future III. It’s often been called the worst one, but I thought it was way better than Part II. Part II seemed too interested with making parallels between the future and the events in the first movie from 1955.
I actually like a lot of Elvis Presley’s music made in the 1970s. “Way Down” is one of my favorite Elvis songs.
I like Jay Leno. I was excited when he started The Jay Leno Show, because I hadn’t seen The Tonight Show in years because I had to go to bed before it came on.
I agree. Hell, I’ll drink that shit right out of the bottle. And it’s fucking great on fries.
And I loved Opportunity Knocks.
Yep, me too. More jumpsuit!
ETA:
That could be said for a lot of the posts in this thread.
.
STAMPEDE, EARL!!!
I love the entire “Tremors” series. Didn’t take itself seriously, lots of nasty monsters getting blown to kingdom come…hell yeah!
I will also admit to liking Lady GaGa, a good chunk of 80’s music, “Waterworld,” “Wild Wild West,” and the 2nd “Men In Black” movie.
The Alamo (2004) has 30% on Rotten Tomatoes and lost money at the box office (iirc) and it’s easily one of my favorite movies of all time.
I like Tom Cruise as an actor.
I think he is superb in virtually everything he does and his personal life nonwithstanding (which he has been quiet for a while) I think he is a helluvan actor
I haven’t read the whole thread, but I think I’m gonna win it with Barb Wire, the movie.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think it’s good. It’s completely silly (and P. Anderson might be one of the worst actresses ever). But it entertains the hell out of me. I don’t really understand it.
I can second that. The theme of the movie was simplistic, sure. Past that, though, “Lemonade Mouth” is startlingly good Disney fare. The writing could be hamdhanded at times, but the kids’ performances were very good.
