Sorry for this probably incredibly basic question, but for one month or so, all the english words I write are underlined as if they were mispelled (I switched to a new computer for internet use). I don’t know what is the tool checking my spelling, but obviously it compares what I write with the content of a french words database.
What can I do to correct that? And while I’m at it : previously, no english word was underlined, even when actually mispelled. So, ideally, I would want to set whatever tool is checking my spelling so that it would use a database of french, english, and while I’m at it spanish words. Can I do that and how?
Check your default language- when my son writes in Spanish he always forgets to change back to English when he is done, so all the English shows up as wrong.
Is it by any chance Microsoft Office? I had a similar thing upgrading (I was tempted to use quotes around that word) to Office 2007. Fixed it by mucking around with Microsoft Office Tools -> Microsoft Office 2007 Language Settings, and including or excluding the appropriate languages.
Yes, it was Firefox. But I didn’t mean it, because I had no clue what was checking my spelling. Even less so since I already used Firefox with my other computer and didn’t have this problem.
And it worked. The number of spelling mistakes in my posts should be significantly reduced in the future. Thanks.
And testing for Spanish , I just discovered that I’ve been forever misspelling a Spanish word (and also right now how to spell “misspelling”).
