All time cheesiest songs...

Rod Stewart: Do Ya Think I’m Sexy
Carl Douglas: Kung Fu Fighting
Motley Crue: Girls Girls Girls
Boys Don’t Cry: I Wanna Be A Cowboy

Heathen!

“Muskrat Love” by the Captain and Tenille.

<< Game Over >>

Manatee

That was my first thought also, although Cap’n & T had plenty of others that were bad too.

So, I guess I’ll throw in this classic… DISCO DUCK Rick Dees

Makes my skin crawl just mentioning it.

Mill Valley by Miss Abrams and the Strawberry Point 4th Grade Class.

ABBA should win the Grammy in this catagory! Mostly for the cheesy lyrics of two Swedish guys trying to write in English. Some of their early stuff especially: “I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do,” “I Am Just A Girl,” “Love Has Its Ways.”

The next time you’re in a mood for cheesey music, pick up their “Ring, Ring” CD. It’s so cheesey it wasn’t even released in the USA for 20 years!

Sorry Dragon Phoenix, should I have chosen “Bad, bad Leroy Brown”?

“Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” - Cindy Lauper
“My Future’s So Bright I Gotta Wear Shades”- Timbuk 3
“Hot Child in the City”- ?
“You Sexy Thing” - Hot Chocolate
“YMCA” - The Village People
“Macho Man”- The Village People
“In the Navy”- The Village People
“Muskrat Love” - Captain and Tenille (sp?)

Aack! I cannot let Timbuk3 being in the same post as the Village People go by uncommented. If you listen to any of their other music you would know “Gotta wear shades” was meant to be tongue in cheek. “Edge of Allegiance” is a must have album, imho(which does not include “Shades”).

The culprit in question is Nick Gilder. Apparently cheese doesn’t necessarily lead to fame and fortune.

Anything by Richard Marx, but especially “Hold on to the Night.”

“Harper Valley PTA”, a country crossover by Jeanie C. Riley

Rolf Harris - Two little boys
Teach In - Ding-ding-a-dong

You may need to google for them.
Also “I got you babe”. Cheese.

Nice job, PD.

Thanks to the above comment I now have to scrape a viscous blend of snot and Cherry Coke off my monitor…

I think there is a difference between cheesy and stupid or silly.

For pure cheesiness, I nominate “Feelings”. ("… nothing more than feeeeeeeelings…") by Morris Albert.

“I Honestly Love You” - Olivia Newton John

I surrender - Rainbow.

It would have been cheesy anyway, but for a hard rock outfit to pen it and release it, gooooood grief!

A one-hit wonder from the early 90’s called Timmy T did a song called One More Try.

Cheesiest. Song. Ever.

Anything by David Gates and Bread.

Also Wildfire. I don’t remember who sang it, but it was a cheesy song about a horse.

Sailing by Christopher Cross.

Most anything off of the soundtrack from Precilla, Queen of the Desert (i.e.-Take a Letter Maria, Never Been to Me, Saved the Best for Last, Go West . . .), which is also probably my most favoritest album ever.
