what exactly happened to it?
what is it?
haha i got a few checks from that a long time ago and i stopped using it once they got unfair and retarded when it came to the rules…
Long story short: They paid out a lot more money than they got in from advertizers. Contributing to this was that advertizers saw an extremely low return on investment from banner advertizing. Alladvantage tried to switch to a “lottery” model, where viewing ads got you “tickets” in a raffle for cash. In the end, they quietly died like so many other dot-coms. I myself contributed to their downfall, as I made about $300 from them without spending a penny at their advertizers. Somehow I can’t bring myself to feel guilty:)
i got a couple of cheques from them…i even got one AFTER they closed down…i was impressed, when i heard of their demise i thought i’d never see the money i’d earned!
It was never really going to work… businesses won’t pay for that kind of advertising if it doesn’t make money for them…and of the millions of people using alladvantage, i doubt many of them even clicked on the links…and if they did, i doubt they actually spent money at that company… businesses woke up and realised they were throwing away good money
I got a few small checks from them. I remember seeing a few people who reported they received several thousand dollars. They were the first in the referral pyramid.
Of all the things I’ve seen on the internet in my four years, those pay to surf programs were about as silly as anything I’ve experienced and alladvantage was the most preposterous.
Even at the height of the internet adversiting bubble, it was not possible to fund an enterprise like that thru paid adversiting. How could anyone be so stupid to start a company like that??
