Okay, I did a quick search and briefly skimmed the results and didn’t see this being obviously discussed already.
I watched the Adam-and-Eve segment from the movie Allegro Non Troppo on YouTube. Is there someone who can comment or translate a piece of it?
Really brief synopsis, for purposes of this question: The snake eats the apple himself then falls asleep and has a Terrible No-Good Horrible Really Bad nightmare. Towards the end of the segment he wakes up and is very agitated and screams and rants hysterically. What the snake screams may be Italian or may be utterly unintelligible gibberish. (Hey, it’s all Greek to me.) This begins at about 7:50 in the video.
Can someone translate what the snake says?
I’ll make a separate post Real Soon Now with a (slightly) more detailed synopsis of the segment, in case anyone wants to read that before watching it.
(Note: Forgive me if it’s several days or even a week before I return to this thread. I don’t have readily convenient access any more.)
Okay, quickie TL;DR synopsis if anyone is interested:
God creates Adam (requiring several tries to get it right), then Eve. Snake and fruit tree (drawn as apples) appear. Snake offers apple to Adam then Eve, who both politely decline. Snake eats apple himself. Snake falls asleep and has Very Bad No Good Terrible dream, in which he is tormented by demons and visions of some of the evils that will come to despoil civilization: Predatory traffic jams, commercialized porn advertisements, sex being used to sell soft drinks, and government being corrupted by money being poured in. When he awakes up, he is agitated and screams hysterically, apparently trying to warn Adam and Eve. Finally, snake regurgitates apple (still whole) and wanders off.
Nothing? Nobody? Crickets?
Why would a snake have a nightmare vision of women’s boobs? Snakes don’t nurse their young.
Just stumbled across this (better late than never) and your answer lies here.
(This movie was one of the great unsolved mysteries of my childhood until the Dope (starting at post #496.))
