Allergy, Nasal

I live in GA and am subceptible to pollen and other spring time allergies. I take a daily 24hr Claritin D to help alleviate my symptons. Recently, I have noticed that I will have severe nasal problems (runny nose, itching, sneezing) if I wake up early in the morning (8am). The symptons continue throughout the day despite my medication. However, on days in which I wake up voluntarily (12 noon) I will have virtually no sinus issues, with or without Claritin D.

I have thus concluded a relation between getting adequate hours of sleep and a badly irritated nose or lack thereof. So what is the explanation for this?

Inadequate sleep can have an adverse affect on your immune system. Allergies are an immune disorder. Therefore, some connection seems reasonable.

Also, many plants release their pollen at dawn. If you get up early and get out you’ll get the full effects of this. If you sleep in and don’t go out until noon, much of that morning dose of pollen will have settled to the ground or blown away or sucked into other peoples’ noses.

So it could be one or both things as factors.
