On IMDB trivia page for Almost Famous they mention that this film broke Eric Stolz’s streak of appearing in Cameron Crowe films but that there is a reference to him somewhere in the movie.
Anyone know what it is?

I believe the IMDb says that the Stoltz reference was added to the “Untitled” edition on the DVD, not anywhere in the theatrical release. Unfortunately I have not seen that version on the DVD, so I couldn’t tell you what / where it is.
Where was he in Jerry MaGuire?
He’s listed in the IMDb as “Ethan Valhere”. I don’t remember him from the movie, but he has a

How can you not remember him?
He’s nearly bathed in white light and has a chorus of angels heralding his arrival.
It’s probably the worst cameo I’ve ever seen. It is treated as if Stoltz is a bigger star than Cruise and that we should be surprised and amazed that he is appearing in this picture.
It’s at the party near the begining of the movie. He’s some sort of hot shot acquaintance of Jerry’s. He’s seen full body standing in the middle of this room and is introduced.
