Almost side swiped by pedestrian

Leaving my local “Y” parking lot, a pedestrian, not in crosswalk, talking on cellphone, almost side swiped the vehicle I was riding in. The driver and he exchanged words (calmly from the driver) he threatened to call the transit police, to report hte driver, who radioed for the safety inspector. After talking him down, and waiting for the inspector, we filled out incident reports, with our version of events (I was reading but paid attention as soon as words were exchanged). He showed hte inspector where it happened, describing the incident.

My most adventourous ride home.

I absolutely don’t think pedestrians should have the right of way IN THE STREET.
And I’m primarily a pedestrian.
I also hate jaywalking rules.
Let the idiots who can’t drive and the idiots who can’t walk cancel each other out and be done with it, I say.

An incident report? For what?

“Hey, you almost hit me!”

What a waste of time.

Cause when the clueless pedestrian calls in a complaint to the T customer service or the T police, the driver will get into trouble, whether he was at fault or not.
