So say that after Roosevelt goes all Bull Moose Taft throws in the towel. He still respects Roosevely - even if they’re rivals - and knows with TR in the race he’s finished. Instead, he throws his support behind TR and encourages voters to support him because Wilson is a dangerous man who will promote ‘entangling alliances’.
Between the two candidates - TR and Taft - they pulled down 50% of the national vote. Wilson got about 41% and Debs - winning no EV - got about 6%. It’s not unreasonable to presume that TR would have won that election thereby beating his cousin to third-termdom by 28 years.
How do you fine people think that would have played out? Would TR have been more aggressive in entering the European conflict in 1914 or later? Would he have enshrined unions even further into the American political scene through legislation?
