The Giraffe Boards are similar to the SDMB, if that’s what you are asking. I haven’t visited in a long time.
Started by an SDMB member (I think he was a mod at one time). They even have a Pit.
Not sharing a link, but is easy enough to find. I’m a little concerned that that board would be a little overwhelmed by the size of our membership. Be gentle.
Same here. And I think that the article the link goes to has been updated since the first time I read it. Many people, including myself thought the SDMB was going down. I never read ATMB. My first knowledge of this was in this thread.
I’m not talking about the SDMB and replacement message boards. I’m talking about The Straight Dope Column that just got cancelled, and other columns(in papers, magazines or on-line) that serve the same purpose.

Yep-Something like the link I provided in the OP.
Mike Lenehan started the column, then Dave Kehr did it for a short time. Ed is the third and last*. And yes, he’s been doing it for 40 years, since he was in his late 20s. It’s not the only thing he does, either.
That there’s been more than one Cecil is not exactly a state secret. Plenty of threads here have given the history. It’s in a freaking documentary, for Pete’s sake.
*I’m sure a few columns have been at most edited by Ed, especially the ones that show Una doing all the research.
