Yep. The show just keeps getting weirder and weirder.
Since I’ve been on the SDMB, there have been two times I’ve had complete “WTF is going on???” moments. This is one of them.
While we’re on the topic, why was Don’t fight the hypothetical banned?
Was he a fourth identity in the Hombre/warmgum/darkcool charade, or was that just a coincidence?

Damn, this is probably the biggest sock ring since Serlin and oh, what’s his name, something with a “c”? (It was slightly before my time)
Yup. I thought I hinted at that directly enough in the last post but it was obviously more clear in my own mind. Those four accounts were the same guy. When warmgun got banned years ago, he started a thread about it with another one of his socks, and he did the same thing today. I guess he thought nobody would suspect it.
He apparently fought the hypothetical.
It seems to me that Guinistasia has had some quite similar posts as that guy. Starting a thread about it as well…hmm…

There’s no connection between Merkwurdigliebe and the stuff today with Don’t fight the hypothetical. I found Merkwurdigliebe had a few sock accounts last week when he registered a new one.
Don’t fight the hypothetical outed three of his socks by accident this week when he started that mouthwash thread twice. I found a third account at that time. Don’t fight the hypothetical then started a thread to ask about those bannings, which was a tipoff - he’d done that before under other names.
We don’t usually go into this stuff, but I did announce Merkwurdigliebe’s banning because he was on the board a long time. And this whole thing is pretty confusing so it merits an explanation.
I don’t remember if it was when I found out about the Snark pit, when the whole prr/Liberal thing went down, or something else. It’s been awhile, I don’t remember exactly. Could have been one of the 15+ page pit threads, too.
FWIW, I gave that post a mental applause, and immediately checked the OP to see if that was really what you meant. I was going to give a written applause in the thread, but some dickfart locked it first.

Too bad he didn’t “speculate” about the motives of the multiple sock-people. That would have been surreal. (not Surreal, though wouldn’t it be funny if Surreal turned out to be yet another sock for the guy? I think my head would just up and explode!)
