Sometimes I feel that way too. Then again, I have my 20 Questions threads that a lot of people participate in, so I’m fine, I guess…
[sub]Or am I?..[/sub]
Hey! just what the hell do you mean by starting my thread? This is MY damn complaint, and you have a lot of gall to be claiming it for yourself! I bet I’ve killed more threads than all of you put together! I should be called the Hannibal Lector of the Straight Dope. I’ve got so many dead threads to my name, I might as well be running a crematorium! I am the Stalin of thread massacres! In fact, I bet no one even posts after this one, I’m so damn deadly to threads.
[sub]Damn whiners and their puny mewling complaints about being a thread killer. I’ll show THEM a thread killer, grumble grumble grumble…[/sub]
Gather 'round children, and learn of the tragic story that was Threadkillers…(raises spork in salute).
It all started with this thread, where I made almost the exact same complaint. That resulted in a multi-page threadkilling contest that was very fun and memorable.
Then, the next year, we had [url=http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=53434&highlight=Threadkillers which was also fun, but got a bit too big for its own good.
So big, in fact, that the mods came in and said that Threadkilling contests were a no-no, because they waste bandwith.
So be confident in knowing that you are not a threadkiller. particlewill, who won the first contest, is the official Super-Mega-Threadkiller-o-Doom, and you can’t hold a candle to him.
Here I always thought I was that message-board scourge. In fact, I briefly considered asking the mods to change my name to ThreadKiller, but I suspect it’s already been taken. (Too lazy to check right now.)
It’s a three-way winning situation. Being a thread-killer, and then starting/participatin’ in a thread on thread killin’, all builds up th’ post count. Nothin’ to be sad about, really.
