You’re a lady now Shadow Boxer, stand up sticky little bitch, don’t waste my time, look the other way. We gotta get outa this place, the dogs are talking. Can’t take it anymore, let the night roll on, take a long line into the heat at Marseilles. No secrets.
Vale Doc.
If you have any clue what I’m talking about, add your tributes.
Sad day for Australian rock
Yeah, I have a clue. I’m no good at tributes but he was too young to die.
He was a really nice guy and the rest of the band were pleasant enough too. I met them when I was managing bands and doing live sound many years ago.
A friend of mine managed a Motor Registry and met Doc when he had some problem that needed her attention. She was amazed how humble and laid back he was and she ended up becoming quite chummy with him.
For those who have NFI but like pub rock, a bit of an explanation.
yesterday Doc Neeson, lead singer of The Angels passed away. Doc was one of the last great front men, and the Angels were a great Aussie Pub band from an era that included plenty of competition.
That semi deranged paragraph in my original post was composed (almost) entirely of the names of some of their songs.
Some examples of some of their work.
One of my favourites, No Secrets.
Take a long line
And, the most rhetorical question in Rock, Am I ever gonna see your face again with the iconic audience participation that all started back at a blue light disco in Qld.
RIP Doc, hope you're leaning on the bar wherever gun frontmen go when they die, having a beer with Bon Scott.
Class act.
