It’s also the fascination with girls that freaks me out. Yeah, most guys like to look at pretty girls but they know better than to constantly bring it up. With tdn, it’s, “Yeah, I gave some girls change and they so wanted me” or “Check out my vacation pictures–featuring random girls who I took pictures of without their knowledge, nice asses, huh?” It feels like the kind of thing I’d expect from a seventeen year old guy. And I’m sure that at forty or fifty, you still have the same urges, but don’t most guys get a filter about what they actually say by then?

ok, but this doesn’t disprove what i said. again, i did read the whole thread. what i said was, when women on this message board have said that he comes across as creepy, or that his advances may be unwanted, or anything, really, that he doesn’t want to hear, he either doesn’t respond or just says they don’t understand the situation. the waitress/flirting thread is a good example of this. the advice he listened to and took in this thread was taken because he thinks it’s going to help him get laid.
i also agree that, when it comes to the topics of women/dating/sex, tdn comes across more like a 21 year old frat guy high fiving his bros rather than a man in his forties or fifties.
The thing is, this situation has happened to him before (or something close enough). I wouldn’t be surprised if women are saying one thing and he’s interpreting it as, “Yes, come over here, you stud muffin, and do me!” Could this gal he’s been talking to on the Internet be the exception? If my family tried to warn me off investing in a possible questionable business at any age, I’d take careful consideration of what they said because I believe they have my best interests at heart, even if they might not be correct in this case.
But anyway, point taken, she is old enough to make her own romantic decisions, of course. But, as you also say, her sexuality is nobody’s business but her own - yet she told her brother, who was then concerned enough to tell the rest of the family. That’s incredibly poor judgement on her part. Nothing passes the sniff test here - it all smells bad.
