YMMV, but given other tastes I’ve seen you express, I would think you’d respect and like them a lot once you get past the hype. There really is a there there.
I don’t know how much you’ve dipped your toe into the White Stripes. If a lot - no worries; again YMMV. If not, you might try **I Want to Be the Boy to Warm Your Mother’s Heart ** off Elephant, which features the glassiest-sounding slide lead break I have ever heard in my life. I am also partial to the entire **De Stijl ** CD, which I find to be the most consistent, integrated statement of their work - which is really saying something as far as I am concerned; I really respect them and love listening to them.
