I thought Super Troopers was hilarious.

I also liked Hudson Hawk. There’s a romantic comedy starring Matthew Perry and Salma Hayek called Fools Rush In that I adore. Most people never even heard about it, much less like it.
Yeah, Kung Pow was hilarious and so was Oscar. And maybe S1m0ne with Al Pacino would qualify.
I, too, did not find Lost in Space to be the irredeemable crapfest that pretty much everyone else apparently did. I do have a lot of goodwill left for the original TV show, though, and that may have clouded my judgement. I do think the film could still have been much better though.
Oh dear, where to begin.
Last Action Hero
Unbreakable
Orgasmzo (Southpark creators again)
Condorman (Disney film with Micheal Crawford as a superhero)
The Lawnmower Man
The One (the slowmo effects were so cool!)
Anything by Jacky Chan (how can anyone be bored of him?)
A.I.
I laughed at Ishtar and Jackass: The Movie.
I also thought that Waterworld was sort of ok.
I absolutely love Popeye, starring Robin Williams.
I also really, really like Bubble Boy.
I love Ridley Scott’s Legend passionately. This movie features Tom Cruise with uncapped teeth!
Also really liked The Fifth Element. Didn’t see it for the longest time because I read terrible reviews of it. Finally borrowed it from the library and really enjoyed it.
Blade Runner got panned when it first came out, didn’t it?
Mars Attacks.
**Death to Smoochy. **
I’m the only one to say this but…Daylight. I must be the only one on earth who actually liked that movie.
I second (or third)
Super Mario Bros. What a great bit of nostalgia. And Dennis Hopper!
and
** Kung Pow** was hilarious at times. I loved it (but it did get dumb at some points)
I liked that movie if only for the fact that an EMT was the hero instead of a fireman.
We EMTs generally get the short end of the stick.
I got Lost in Space free with my DVD player, along with City of Angels, US Marshalls, and two other movies so bad I don’t ever remember their names (possible a second copy of City of Angels, just to rub it in). LiS was the only one I kept. The plot was pretty bad, but the actors all did such a good job, I couldn’t help liking them. Wossisname from Friends really impressed me. I mean, I expected Gary Oldman and William Hurt to be good, but I never expected to buy Joey as an action-type.
I kinda wish they’d do a sequel: same cast, but with a better script.
I also loved Death to Smoochy. Funniest, hippest movie I’d seen in years.
Daylight was the Stallone flick about the tunnel collapse, right? Not bad for a mindless action flick. I always liked Stallone better than Schwartzenegger. Demolition Man was great, too.
[Rob Schneider]In my last movie, I played a smarmy, obseqious character, but in this one, I play obsequios and smarmy. It’s a big stretch for me as an actor.[/Rob Schneider]
GREASE 2!!!
Both Hudson Hawk and The Fifth Element are so universally liked by almost everyone I know who has actually seen them that I think they should be retired from such discussions, and perhaps put into the “movies that people think other people don’t like” hall of fame.
Oh, and I also enjoyed Fools Rush In with Matthew Perry and Salma Hayek. It was very very badly promoted however, in that the ads for it implied that it was a goofy, Friends-style comedy, when in fact it’s largely a romance, along with a lighthearted cultural drama, with some comedy thrown in. But it has a good heart.
I also enjoyed The Frighteners. It had its moments.
Creator with Peter O’Toole was very good, and again I think it was marketed poorly.
Romeo Must Die. I can’t imagine how people could complain about this movie and hold it as an example of how Asian stars can’t make good movies in Hollywood. As far as I can tell it is just as good as most of Jet Li’s work back home. It’s no Fist of Legend, but it’s at least on par with The Bodygaurd from Beijing (US The Defender), and I think that’s a pretty good movie.
True, in a perfect world the producers wouldn’t have felt the need to prop great action up with a bunch of hip-hop, but in Once Upon a Time in China there’s implied incestuous desire, so nothing’s perfect.
Kung Pow. I’d definetly watch the sequal (on DVD that is ;)).
I’ll be your girl for all seasons
All the year through
Your girl for all seasons
'Cause I lo-o-ove
lo-o-ove
lo-o-ove
Yes I love to be everything to you
Just you
ahem
Who wouldn’t like ROTJ?
Me, for one. Stupid Ewoks. Lame death of Boba Fett. Too many muppets in Jabba’s palace. Carrie Fisher, clearly coked out of her pretty little skull, blowing all the great Leia-Han chemistry they’d built up in Empire. Giant desert vagina. Creepy retcon incest. Loved the giant dogfight, and the Luke-Vader duel was cool (although nothing compared to the one in Empire), but over-all it was a huge disappointment.
Of course, after TPM and Clones, it looks pretty good. Then again, what doesn’t look good compared to Attack of the Clones?
