I can take or leave the song as a list of Jewish celebrities but my favorite line is “Drink your gin and tonica… smoke your marijuanica” followed by very loud applause from the crowd. Makes the song IMHO. I’m pretty sure “Piece of shit car” is the same. Long litany of mildly funny stuff with a great climax to the whole thing. In fact, that almost seems to be Sandler’s schtick- long and kind of boring buildup, punchline, laugh, repeat.
I enjoy the song but I don’t have a copy on my iPod since it would be in too heavy of a rotation a Christmas time, I have 21 hours of Christmas music but even once a day is too much. I haven’t heard the song yet this year and am hoping to catch it before the Christmas rotation ends.
Yeah, but rhyming “Carnegie Deli” with “Arthur Fonzarelli” is IMHO good enough to tide me over until hitting “you don’t need Deck The Halls or Jingle Bell Rock – 'cause you can spin the dreidel with Captain Kirk and Mister Spock!” That line alone justifies the song for me.
