I was going to use it as a signature and I didn’t want to offend.
So much for being polite and asking…
No, you’re not allowed to post commercial links, or possibly offensive links, as your sig, or have them as your website. And a better way to ask would have been to email an administrator or moderator, rather than post. I’m going to edit your profile and post now.

It’s always best to ask permission before you perform the action in question.
You should probably have asked: “Is it was acceptable to put a link to my own website in my sig? The website happens to contain sick, abusive, and racist jokes, if that makes any difference.”
At which point you would have received either a negative or positive response and acted accordingly.
Your method is much like: “Mind if I (yum, yum, that tasted good) take a piece of candy from the dish?”
