Amazing online source of classical music

Just wanted to let the musicians out there in on a site I found this morning - the Werener Icking Music Archive. I found the Bach Violin Partitas I was looking for - and there is much, much more. And the scores are gorgeoulsy typeset. It also appears to all be legal - public domain pieces with permission to download for non-commercial use.

If anybody else knows of any similar (and legal) online archives, I’d love to hear about them.

Fantastic site!! Thanks

That site does have its own page of links.
Virtual Sheet Music is more complete, but is a paid service.

And I looked at their edition of the Sonatas & Partitas, to compare with mine. I found theirs to be harder to read, plus with a commercial edition you get the benefit of a professional violinist’s editing marks. I prefer Ivan Galamian’s, but if you can read theirs OK and don’t mind editing yourself, I don’t see a problem.

Ugh, I don’t like their typesetting at all.

Have a look at online musical scores. Actual scanned published manuscripts. And you can thank me later.

I’ve found this site extremely useful lately:

Yeesh. My link is the same as JPEG’s. Sorry.
