Bama’s decision to just go to Orly and hope for a flight out was their real folly – it was a smart move to fly in there, but when you want an international departure you should probably go with the busiest local airport. Or at least ask someone before committing to a taxi ride. But I wasn’t sorry to see them stranded.
When Rob & Kimberly were telling people their help was “worth a million dollars,” I wanted to hear one of them ask “What’s my cut?”
That said, this was one of the duller finales, and I’m glad it was just an hour.
My point exactly. Plus, it’s not like he put up much of a fight, you know? He’s so passive-aggressive. And I hate to say it, because I want to believe that they have redeeming qualities, but when Kim said about the “big rock” that Rob was going to “just have to work for it now”? Yeah, whatever. Not a fan of theirs, I don’t think. I kind of think they’re both butts.
It would have been even better if it had actually been a picture of the 1/2-scale Tower at the Paris Hotel in Vegas. If I were producing TAR, the Finish Line would have been there, just to watch everyone go to France and wander around aimlessly when they realized there was no clue box…
I thought the best part was the slightly cryptic clue about Chernobal with half of the teams about to go into Moscow instead of Kiev. I want more of those like “Travel to the Eternal City” and teams heading off to the Emperor’s Palace in Peking (aka “The Fobidden City”). How about a roadblock where one team member needs to complete the leg themselves. You could have 2 and if you did the first leg-long roadblock then the partner must do the other one. Admit it - you’d love to se Mo from MoJo or Rob try to navigate, drive, and complete the tasks by thenselves.
I could not agree more! And I don’t understand the “fashion” choice either. . . unless nobody felt their mapreading skills were strong enough to enable them to walk a painting through the streets of Paris. Dumb!
Thank God this race is history. It did have some fun tasks but some really boring contestants. Bring on the All-Stars!
See, I don’t know if that one would fool anyone. It’s only 1/3-scale in height, because it’s freakishly wide in order to accommodate the observation deck and, in silhouette, doesn’t really look a lot like the real thing.
They did a puzzle in Kuwait. One team member had to climb up the outside of a tower and grab a satchel with some puzzle pieces, then get to the ground and put the puzzle together. The puzzle revealed a location but was written in Arabic.
That’s kind of funny, because I had high hopes for this group of contestants at the beginning of the season; it looked like a welcome contrast to earlier seasons full of models and actors. But it seemed like the most promising teams, in terms of being interesting, were either eliminated early (the Muslim guys, the Indian couple, Duke & Lauren) or weren’t as interesting as I thought they might be (the Chos, Peter & Sarah, Lyn & Karlyn)
Huh. I had a dream I was on TAR, too. It’s a little fuzzy, but I think we got badly lost and Phil had to come get us (which would probably be what actually would happen to me on TAR). The best part was the Detour where we had to dress up in Godzilla suits and smash a miniature Tokyo to find the next clue. I heartily endorse that as a task idea.
I agree about the mediocre ending. Already looking forward to next season, I hope Guido is back for it. I wonder if they will have previous fighting couples back on, even if they have broken up. Will they force them to keep the same teams the had previously? Imagine a now ex-couple forced to race together! There could be actual killing going on.
Maybe Lance Bass and Reichen will appear (or is he with Chip?)
The muslim guys from this season don’t really qualify as all-stars but I kind of hope they got a call back since they barely even got a chance to race.
Frakkin’ awesome! I also highly endorse this idea. But I have to ask: what was the other option? Because “Godzillas or Chinchillas” has some potential.
He’s nt with either of them any more. The break-up was announced about a week ago. So sad. Yet another of America’s Perfect Gay Couples that couldn’t last.
It would be kinda cool to put together a TAR All Stars consisting entirely of the 10 teams philliminated on the 1st leg. Could make for some wonderfully inept racing.
On the other hand…how badly would it suck to be the team to lose on Leg 1 TWICE?
I think I missed something. How did Rob and Kimberly get seats on the flight from Paris to New York while the models had to go on standby? Weren’t the models at the airport first?
