I’m ridiculously saddened that I did not know they had started in MA, but it’s not like it would have made a difference in my life. I do know where they end this time, because my cousin happened upon the final leg, but I will keep that info to myself.
They started in Massachusetts? Sweet, that’s where I grew up. I hope the first clue was “drive yourself to Logan airport” – there will probably be one team still stuck in the tunnel.
Or waiting to let them merge. Or on their way to the Cape stuck in traffic at the bridge. Seriously, after doing it for 30 years, I will be disappointed if some team doesn’t have a Mass Meltdown Moment negotiating that Boston area traffic.
Also, YAY! I’m ready for some Phil, some exotic scenery, some teams to love and hate . . . all of it. Amazing Race is one of the very, very few must-see shows on my list.
They started in Gloucester; don’t need to go through a tunnel to get to Logan. Ha! I win.
The other thing I noticed was that the first flight was to England. Weren’t the first few seasons of the Race U.S.->Europe->Africa/South Asia, etc.? It sounds like they may be back to that sort of route again.
I dunno; people are funny about spoilers. I know that, during the run of the show itself, there are people who prefer not to watch or read about “On next week’s show…”
I wonder if the Hilltop Steakhouse cactus will make a cameo.
Of course, they may send them down 128 to 93, for the sake of staying on highways as long as possible, as well as getting a nice shot of the Zakim bridge.
I hope they get verbal instructions in Massachusetts. Because it’d be a hoot to have a local tell a team from some other part of the country to pahk their cah in Hahvahd Yahd.
My father (from Denver) likes to tell the story of when he first arrived at Harvard. He asked someone for directions somewhere, and the person responded, “Do you have a cah?” My father had absolutely no idea what the guy was talking about. Apparently the guy had to ask him several times, “Do you have a cah? A cah?” before my Dad figured it out.
No old team this year, lots of interchangeable 20-something blondes. I guess Ron & Tony are the token gay team, though they’re just listed as friends. No one that really sticks out as one to watch just yet.
I can sort of see why CBS released this video, but it would have been so great to have no idea ahead of time that this was going to happen, and to be completely surprised during the normal course of watching.
It is the greatest moment in Amazing Race history. It is not a spoiler as to who wins or loses or even advances in the race.
I’m choosing to stay spoiler-free on the linked tidbit for the time being, since you make it sound like fun to be surprised. Without giving anything away, how soon into the season does it happen? First episode? (crosses fingers)
As a relative TAR newbie, will I recognize the greatness or is there a super-subtle hint you could offer to make sure I don’t miss it? Meaning is it only great in the context of having watching a bunch of seasons?
