I completely forgot it’s now on Friday nights.
Who watches TV on a Friday night?!?
I hope this isn’t CBS’s way of letting TAR fade into the sunset
That said, I now have to watch it online, which I haven’t done yet.

I’d gladly trade moving it to Friday in exchange for having it start on time every week. Hopefully they don’t move it back to Sunday when Tea Leoni’s new show gets cancelled.
Thankfully, nothing that I actually watch is on Thursday or Sunday this season, so no football delays. That’s going to be a weird feeling…TAR actually starting on time!
The football delays are why I stopped watching TAR a few years ago. It got really frustrating.
Which is no doubt why they moved it…that and our constant bitching about the delays
Liked this episode. Rooting for several teams. Like the scientists, the bikers and the flight attendants especially.
That Compass challenge was insidious. I have used compasses since I was a little kid (I was a science dork who played with microscopes and compasses)and never saw one that worked the way those did. I would have been completely wrong.
Also thought it was strange that they filmed Phil when the teams had arrived. I don’t think that has ever happened before.
I loved that challenge, and I really wondered how those teams would be able to continue after the sun went down. And it looks like all three remaining teams were fairly close to their treasures, so they did eventually figure out how to use the compass.
I’m sorry to see the blondes go only because someone who says the sun rises in the west is liable to say anything, and that could have been immensely entertaining.
Here’s what I couldn’t figure out about those last three teams - if you can’t find what you’re digging for after hours of digging, why not go back to your starting point and measure off again? Why just keep digging a bigger hole? I also wondered if they could have used the shovel handle to poke around in the sand nearby for the treasure chest.
I just liked that challenge because it seemed like it would be a fun, cool puzzle to work out.
The way I would have done it would be to find some visible markers; sticks or rocks or whatever. Then I’d use the compass and pace off the rough, approximate distance, and set a stick right where I thought it was supposed to be, a couple feet to right and a couple feet to the left. (Three total sticks.) Then go back to the starting point of that measurement and see how accurate my direction is, orienting with the three sticks to find the perfect line. Once the line had been verified, then I’d verify the distance. Lather, rinse, repeat for all three steps. I would have found that process fun.
That was actually the reverse of the problem they had. All of them were in the right area, just a few feet off. But they kept going back and measuring again and again, when they would’ve been better off just digging a bigger hole.
