Who will win?
I think the Candy Scientists might actually have a chance here.
The Wrestlers make mistakes but kill the physical tasks
The Dentists are still over confident, and they make mistakes, too, tho not as often as eam Wrestle Mania. One slip is all it needs for this leg.
Soul Surfers have a real shot, and I think I lean to them taking home the million
If the tasks aren’t totally physical, tho, Team Candy Scientists might pull out an upset.
From Titan TV’s guide:
“One team will face an elimination that leaves them shocked.”
Guesses? Dentists, maybe…
Less than an hour before show, anyone else with predictions?
Rooting for Anyone but the Dentists.
No longer distracted by Bethany’s arm stump, I find myself wishing she had a more supportive bra.
When the wrestlers were watching the stunt at the warehouse, I knew they were toast. It really should have been Phil jumping out of the window to give them the news.
I just said the exact same thing.
Cool.
Now … Previews!
The Amazing Match. com Race!
You Don’t Have to be Lonely, at Amazing Race dot com.
At the start of the leg on the airplane, the wrestlers said “We’ve won wrestling championships, so it would be great to win…” and then while they were finishing with “…The Amazing Race” I was saying for them “…an actual competition.”
Bethany sure is bouncy.
For me, the Candy Scientists winning is almost as big of a letdown as the Beekmans. They were the one team I didn’t want to see win.
Not a fan of this entire final leg, actually. Of the three activities, two were on rails. The only activity that mattered, the big “think of all the legs” task, was a solo task. Huh? That’s always a team task. Boooooo.
Eh. I’m happy with the scientists. I would have been fine with the surfers. Anyone but the goddamn freaking arrogant freaking dentists. I haven’t been able to stand either of them since Leg 2, at least.
Jim the Chew Man looked like he wanted to punch something.
For the official Road Blocks, yes, but navigating around L.A. was the biggest factor in this leg. The Wrestlers headed for San Diego, or something. The Dentists left City Hall just before the Scientists, but the Scientists were getting directions so they got to the warehouse first. I like that that’s a valuable Race skill, although I also understand the reason for using taxis at the very end.
The Scientists had a couple head-scratching moments, but being smart about directions and finding their way around kept them in it.
The difference in arrival time at the containers was so close together as to be irrelevant, meaning the aggregate travel time discrepancies among the top three teams was negligible.
Didn’t the Scientists have navigation problems early in the race? Like in Scotland, London and Morocco?
Yes, but that’s with the Scientists’ good navigation. Maya (I think) balked a couple times on the practice jump, they headed for the Coast Guard boats and had to come back to take off the stunt gear, they were probably slower on the swimming task, and Maya had to stop to put her shoes on after they got back to shore.[sup]*[/sup] Those things add up. If they hadn’t navigated better than the other teams, they’d have been somewhat behind at starting the container task. Considering how close they looked at the end of that task, I think navigating was the deciding factor for the leg.
The feeling I got is that the scientists crossed the finish line a solid 20 minutes ahead of the dentists, who themselves were at least a half hour ahead of the surfers.
Put it another way: Remove all of the navigation/wardrobe errors and the final order doesn’t change. It actually gets further apart, most likely.
Betheny was a mortal lock for 3rd place on that final challenge, and we heard the dentists (barely ahead of the scientists) say they were 10 minutes behind the surfers in the cab after leaving the coast guard task on the way to the containers.
