You beat me to it.
Apparently Thranduil rode an Elk.
Sorry, just getting back to a couple earlier posts.
I don’t know that it’s that odd. Certainly no odder than the sexual charge between Gandalf and Galadriel in The Hobbit movies.
Just me? Not really.
I pictured the trees as a lot bigger than that.
That article is weird. First: the “race of elves, men, dwarves and harfoots”? And then they suggest that you can see the sword Narsil in one of them as if it’s well-hidden.
I never could picture the trees. It seemed like a very odd concept for me, glowing trees that gave both sunlight and moonlight at the same time, unless you were standing behind a building or facing the wrong direction. Did the light get in your eyes? Could you see to read by them? And pity the poor fools who woke up in Middle Earth.
Where in the link are you finding all this content? I mostly just found a lot of photos of hands.
I’m looking forward to this. It could be horrible, but it could be a lot of fun.
Not sure which, if any, poster is supposed to be Galadriel.
Brian
Is it the Two Trees of Valinor, or the holly trees of Lindon? (Or perhaps a couple of mallorn trees that Galadriel will eventually plant in Lothlorien?)
That’s the TheOneRing link with all the hands (and one Elder Scroll ), the Vanity Fair one is the one with the production stills, and the Radio Times one has the Trees image
Only the Two Trees shone like that, AFAIK.
I don’t know how big anyone pictured the Two Trees, but the Trees in that picture are friggin’ huge. Even in-frame, they’re two or three times taller than the forest trees in the foreground, and they’re way off on the horizon, many times further away than the forest trees.
These Trees appear to be far beyond the horizon, but even so the illumination would be something like a permanent sunset. Might make agriculture a bit challenging.
In Tolkien’s universe, starlight apparently provides enough light for plants to grow. Tolkien was more interested in poetry than biology.

Thanks!
I agree with @Chronos that the two trees are HUGE, they may be taller than the city in the foreground.
I like the idea of Elrond as a politically ambitious young man. That fits him, imo. I am less comfortable with an unbearded dwarf. That just feels wrong.
Yeah, they even mentioned in one of the movies that female dwarves have beards.
And Tolkien doesn’t tell us much about young Elrond, but young Galadriel was definitely a rebel without a cause.
It’s canon in the books.
Will the wizards be in this?
Probably not; they were sent to Middle-Earth, in the forms of men, by the Valar, in the Third Age, to help the people of Middle-Earth oppose Sauron. As this new series is set in the Second Age, if the Istari (the formal name of the Wizards) were to appear at all, it would be in their original forms as Maiar.
We shall see. If they do write them in it will probably be one of the many things that create a massive nerd fight on the interwebs.
I doubt we will see any of the faithful Valar or Maiar in physical form during this story.
