Amazon Prime Xray cast picture question

When I’m watching a movie on Amazon Prime, I’ll look at X Ray to view trivia and information about the cast. If I look at pictures of an actor/actress the caption for the picture will have the names of all the actors pictured. Next to some is (l), which I at first thought meant “living” but there are some that aren’t.

I recently noticed a few with (II) and one with (V), so I guess they are numbers.

Anyone know what’s up with this?

Typically that indicates there are other people by the same name in the IMDB database. Amazon Prime owns/uses the IMDB database.

Really? I’d have never guessed. Thanks!

This is a good example:

There are 3 Harry Carey listed plus a Harry Carey Jr.

So the famous but old cowboy actor is either (I) or no number.
This guy is listed as (II) Harry Carey - IMDb
and here is (III) Harry Carey - IMDb

Just chiming to say X-ray is great. It’s frustrating to watch things on Netflix, HBO etc. without having the same functionality. Maybe it’s an exclusive deal between IMDB and Amazon?

Yep, I love it. If something is available on Amazon and Netflix, I always choose Amazon just because of XRay.

Very possibly, especially given that Amazon owns IMDB.

TIL.

I’m even more surprised to learn it was acquired by Amazon way back in 1998.
