I’ve just got a temp job working from home. As part of it I need to use Amazon Workspaces. Whenever Amazon Workspaces is onscreen the PrtScr button does nothing. Is there any way to get PrtScr to work whilst AWS is up, or any program that performs a more robust print screen that will override AWS’s objections? I would rather not have to rely on using an external device to take a picture of the screen.
As an alternative, and assuming you’re using Windows 10, look in Windows Accessories for Snipping Tool or Snip & Sketch, which allow you to draw a box around the part of the screen you want to capture. You can then paste the result into a document.
Thanks. I’ve finished work for the day and can’t relogin until authorised to do so, but I’ll see if that works tomorrow.
What do you mean, PrtScr does nothing? Do you mean it fails to copy the entire screen into the paste buffer (which you wouldn’t notice unless you tried pasting what’s in the buffer)? Or do you mean it fails to open some program window that it does on other computers you use?
It does nothing. No error message or any other indication, but pressing PrtScr whilst AWS is up doesn’t affect the clipboard. Whatever was in the clipboard, (text, image, file, whatever) is still there.
I do not work for Amazon or use Workspaces, but there are certain platforms at my work that have this feature. I am pretty sure that you must have signed an employment agreement, part of which will be to not break the security by taking screenshots !!
