AMC and The Shawshank Redemption

If you’re going to watch only two movies over the weekend these two are pretty good choices.

Well, if you want quality, next week is “Happy Gilmore” week on AMC. Nothing says classic American movie better than Adam Sandler.

I noticed they had Demolition Man on last night.

Morgan Freeman Lamb approves.

For a long time you couldn’t channel surf without seeing “Dirty Dancing” running on at least two channels.

According to IMDB:

"After the film gained popularity, Ted Turner sold the television rights to TNT, his own network, for much lower than normal for such a big film. Because it is so inexpensive to show, the film is broadcast on TNT extremely often. "

I think Turner also has a large interest in AMC. Coincidence?

It seems like there was a period of a few years in the mid-late 2000s, when you couldn’t go a single weekend without seeing Goodfellas on some cable channel.

Not that that’s a bad thing, mind you.
