Dave, why in the fucking world would you refuse to acknowledge the goings-on in the prison that have been confirmed by the SoD and independent members of congress who were involved in the hearings? Is it just denial? Why must you see pictures or have someone charged with a specific(and I’m guessing detailed) crime before you will admit that these horrendous things happened?
I know it’s a lot to accept-that our boys and girls in uniform can be fucking sickos and have dishonored our country-but I’ll be damned man, this flat-out refusal to accept the facts as they have been confirmed(though nor photographically or by charges) is unhealthy.

Stupiddave has proven beyond reasonable doubt that he has no problem brushing over what doesn’t fit his argument, ignoring cites, misrepresenting people and backpeddaling when he’s cornered. Somehow he’s decided that eyewitness testimony provided under oath is hearsay, and that although he’ll get on the bandwagon if charges are ever brought, completely ignores that charges have been brought! What makes him privy to his bizarre idea that charges have only been brought based on the photos that have been released to the public is beyond my scope to comprehend. The military and the government have had all the pictures and videos in their possession since the investigations started back in January and criminal charges have been brought against several people based on the entirety of the evidence, but he expects us to believe that they’ve only based those charges on what 60 minutes showed the public. It’s ridiculously absurd. But he’ll do anything not to ever have to admit that he’s a fucking liar. So do yourself a favor and don’t waste anymore pixels on him. You’ll never get what you want.

Hey, I’m a huge fan of distrusting government officials. I think Rumsfeld is a lying sack of shit and I wouldn’t put it past him to lie under oath. The thing that really brought it home to me was seeing some of the reports which were released by the Red Cross and the investigative reports from inside the DoD. The Smoking Gun has one such document.
The attachments to this report(referred to as ANNEXes) would be the real smoking gun. We’ve seen several so far and they have been exactly as the report described them. I tend to believe the rest exist as well.

I’m with you there as well. I’m certainly not denying that extremists have shrouded their anti-Semitism with the cloak of the Prophet, nor that anti-Semitism exists, in the Middle East as elsewhere. I’m just saying that the impression we get from what exposure we are given via the national media paints a highly distorted picture, both of the nature of Islam and of the extent to which anti-Semitism is prevalent among Muslims.

I suppose the two could have fallen in love, but I find it impossible, given the nature of a guard/prisoner relationship, to believe that this is anything but rape. Tell me, if you’ve read the document through, I’m not finished yet, does it say why this was not classified as “rape”? It seems pretty open and shut to me.

Wow! Have you ever considered a career in law enforcement? Or public relations? By your standards, the various bodies found in Chicago with mortal wounds such as gunshots to the back of the head and multiple stabwounds shouldn’t be considered homicides unless a security camera caught the action or someone is actually charged. Not that I’ve seen. I’ve read through the page 28 or so. It is pretty dry reading with lots of citations to attachments I don’t have available(copies of sworn testimony, etc) which make it a bit hard to follow. My WAG would be that rape tends to have a violent component in most definitions and I’m not familiar enough with the UCMJ to know how it is defined there. A simpler explination would be that the document didn’t seem to be as much detailing specific legal charges as much as describing the events themselves and the command structure around the events. The focus was not so much the events as the chain of command, failures in training and such.
