American Chopper finished theme bikes

I’ve noticed on American Chopper that the boys will build theme bikes for various companies that are tie specifically to the ordering company. I always thought that the bikes were then the property of the ordering company, but when you see shots of them in the OCC gift shop and motorcycle museum, you see a lot of those company theme bikes on display. What’s up with that? Do they make two of each bike or are they just on temporary display, or what?

Also, can anyone tell me the approx. price these high profile bikes go for on average?

I know Paul Sr. bid on and won several of the bikes built for charity. They even showed Paul bidding on a couple. He wanted them back for Occ’s display.

I think some of the Corporate build theme bikes really belong to the customer. They all aren’t in that OCC display. I recall Jay Leno complaining his bike broke down and left him stranded. That was on the Tonight Show. It depends on who pays the costs. Some of the companies may want the free advertising more than the bike. Their name gets mentioned several times in the episodes.

You have to listen close. I know with the Fire Bike they say it was built in honor of the 9/11 Firefighters. They never said it would be given to the NY Firefighters. That bike is in the OCC display.
