One thing I have noticed about the American Chopper show is the display room full of bikes. It seems to be filled with many of the theme bikes that were built for different companies. If a bike is built for a specific company, why do so many of them end up in the display room instead of being the ordering company’s property?
Perhaps they bought them back, are storing it there for them for display (and free advertising), were given back for whatever reason, or turned out to be lemons.
I seem to recall earlier episodes where multiple versions of a bike were built–one for the client and one for OCC. Paul Sr has also stated a few times interest in buying back bikes that were put up for auction. Unfortunately I have no cites.
In some cases OCC has been the client. The Firebike, the POW/MIA bike and the Black Widow come to mind.
