Pregame is on in the background while I get some chores done (I’ll be parked in front of the TV for the next 10 straight hours, so I try to get something productive done), so I’m not really picky.
ESPN is preferred, but I try and catch Frank’s picks on FOX.
Not to worry, just an awkward bit of wording on my part.
Sterling is still with ESPN and Shannon with CBS’ The NFL Today.
Here’s a potential Dream Team of bad analysts for you… Sterling Sharpe, Deion Sanders and Paul Maguire. It’s so bad that someday it’ll probably happen.
Sterling = Smooth, classy and intelligent
Shannon = Stuttering clown
I think all the pre-game shows have gotten worse over the years. Remember ESPN bringing in Rush Limbaugh a couple seasons ago?!! It really hasn’t gotten much better since then. Michael Irvin? Give me a freaking break! Who’s next, Jimmy Kimmel?
I’m almost to the point where I don’t watch any of them, but we usually keep ESPN on in the background and flip to the local pre-game shows (KC Chiefs–yeah, I know)
Because he apparently thinks that yelling louder and professing his admiration for people who are playas, playmakas, and get paid is more important than reasoned analysis?
It’s most intolerable for me when he’s shouting down Young or Jackson, who are saying reasonable things (even if I don’t always agree) in an interesting but calm voice, in order to give such wonderful analysis such as, “JEVON WALKER HAS GOT TO GET PAID! BRETT FARVE CANNOT GET BETWEEN A MAN AND HIS PAYCHECK. JEVON WALKER IS A PLAYMAKER - HE HAS GOT TO GET PAID.”
