I think this is Archuleta’s first really bad performance. All he’s doing is karaokeing the Stevie Wonder version. He didn’t endear me by saying he wasn’t familiar with the Beatles either
I wonder if they’re not supposed to say things like “Well, Imagine is my favorite Lennon tune, wish I’d have known this week was coming so I coulda saved it for now, hmph.”
That absolutely sucked. Worst of the day.
He blew them TWICE, actually. Heh. Later, Li’l Dude.
That wasn’t good for me, dawg. That was actually almost as bad as Kristy Lee Cook performance. He really sucked tonight.
There’s no way that was worse than “8 Days a Week”
Well, he’s not going anywhere but that was David A. worst performance so far. Which puts him in the middle of tonight’s performances. Lord, will anything be worse than Kristy? That’s gonna get a gazillion hits on youtube.
Wait, wait. I must say it again except with the right name: Go To Hell, Kristy!
He’ll get by. His wasn’t the worst performance. It just goes to show how deceptively hard Beatles songs are. There were one or two good performances tonight and a lot of forgettable ones. They should do the Beatles every year to really see what the contestants can do.
It was pretty close, though.
Chickeasy was my favorite of the night. I also really liked Amanda. Carly was enjoyable. Then there’s a bunch of people with varying degrees of meh.
And then there’s Kristy.
Brooke and Chikezie were the best of the night.
Top 3
- Chikizie
- Brooke
- I got nuthin’
Bottom 3
10. David A
11. David H
12. Kristy

I think there’s about a 100% chance we’ll be hearing that horrific version of “Eight Days a Week” again tomorrow night.
Chikeze for the win!
Carly was great, Rami sounded better on the review clip than I remembered.
Hooray! That honestly was my favorite performance of the night. Not for any of the right reasons, but I loved it more than any other performance of anything ever.
Since I am at work would anyone out there be so kind as to tell me what song David A apparently goofed up so horribly?
Thanks.
We can work it out
David Archuleta: Bad, bad, bad. Mediocre vocals and awkward stage presence.
David Hernandez: Terribly disappointing. I thought he was one of the better ones until tonight. Not excruciating but very bland.
Syesha: Pretty bland but pleasant enough to actually be one of the better ones of the night.
Chikezie: Awesome! Loved it. Chikezie is my new favorite.
Amanda: Liked it. At least it was fairly interesting.
Michael Johns: A little straightforward but I really like his voice and I think he has endearing, if slightly awkward, stage presence.
Kristie Lee Cook: AAAAAAAH. Comically bad. Somehow (though I guess unsurprisingly) she managed to be offbeat to an equally offbeat arrangement. So bad in every way.
Ramiele: Horrifically boring.
Brooke: Very nice. No revelations, but one of the best of the night.
David Cook: Not objectively bad, but I hated it. You can’t just give every song the Nickelback treatment. Actually, you shouldn’t give any song the Nickelback treatment.
Carly: Not bad. Sounded kind of weird to me though.
Jason Castro: I thought Simon nailed it on the head. Proficient, but nothing special.
How I’d rank tonight, best to worst:
Chikezie
Brooke
Michael Johns
Amanda
Syesha
David Hernandez
Carly
David Cook
Jason Castro
David Archuleta
Ramiele
Kristy Lee Cook
I missed the first 3 performers, but since I agree with everything else Lama Pacos wrote, I will chime in with a ‘what s/he said.’
