American Idol - 11,12 March [open spoilers posibble, open at your own risk]

Well, crap! The wrong person got sent home!

David Hernandez got the boot – Kristy is staying! Ack!

Oooh, poor David H had nothing planned, he wound up with the “you’ll see me at the top, this isn’t the end of the road, not for me!”

Ouch.

Well I’m kinda hoping David H can now do a tour of the nation’s gay strip clubs showing off his real talents. If it makes it here to Chicago I will let anyone interested know.

I would totally go see him. :stuck_out_tongue:

That sucks though. Ah well.

Maybe he did that because he knew that HE blew it, and that their beating wasn’t just subjective or for good TV. When you forget the words, you had better not backsass any.

Yeah, but a lot of 'em do anyway. The little emo sissy probably would have.

So ok, David A. effed it pretty good this week but I for one ain’t counting him out yet; if Dialidol is even remotely accurate he is pulling in waaaaaaaaaaay more votes than anyone else.

I’m willing to chalk this week up to nerves and being young.

If it continues down the road, then I will start to consider him a flash in the pan.

Wow…after all the suck that occurred after this performance, I didn’t expect to be right.

Oh, boo. David H was lame this week but he has a ton of potential. Kristy must be stopped!

You’re kidding? I missed his performance but I thought he’d get by on previous good performances. Please tell me that she was at least bottom two?

I appear to be in distinct minority, but I liked Kristy’s take on 8 Days a Week. The arrangement was a bit odd in places, but I thought it worked as a country song. She can really sing, too.

I’m at least 98% sure that it was the gay stripping thing. Yeah, petty, but remember that the round of 12 is a crapshoot, and even a seemingly minor, irrelevant thing can be fatal. Actually, I don’t think it was so much the voting public’s disapproval for stripping as simply not wanting to think about it week after week.

Listening to Hernandez again…cheesy, yes, but no more than a lot of hopefuls who made it to the round of 6. He’ll go as far as he can, however far that is.

It’s a wide-open contest now. With so many contestants on the bubble, one of them is bound to build some momentum and even potentially steal a spot from the favorites. There have been stumbles and flops and bad decisions, but everyone starts from zero next week.

Then again, they’re doing Lennon/McCartney again (deal, DKW…just deal :stuck_out_tongue: ), so who knows, this may be the end for blue-dress.

Can’t vouch for the quality of the contestants, but this is certainly shaping up to be the most unpredictable AI in recent memory.

Oh, and Syesha and Kathy were the other two in the bottom three. Order not given, of course.

I can’t for the life of me understand the reasoning behind the sing-outs. It has already been established that they were the worst, so why subject the audience to it again? Why not have the TOP three sing instead?

Re: Kristy Lee Cook

I haven’t been watching the last couple of weeks, but still kind of skimming the threads, and this comment made me tune in to see it last night. Wow. I actually hallucinated chickens fluttering about on the stage for a moment.

Voted off doesn’t always mean worst, and worst of the remaining constestants doesn’t always mean bad. The singout gives them one last chance to be heard. And sometimes the audience is devastated to see them go. As such, the show can’t pick and choose who gets a singout. Anyway, sometimes the singout is better than the voting-night performance, because the pressure is off.

I don’t know who was more shocked when Seacrest announced the loser – Kristy Lee or David H.

Anyone who kept an eye on Dial Idol wasn’t particularly surprised. He was next to last there, and she was something like 5th.

She had a miserable performance b/c she took a chance and fell flat on her face. The thing about David H. is that he was probably the absolute cheesiest guy on the stage in any given night, regardless of arrangement. I couldn’t even stand to look at his facial expressoins while he was singing.

I’m happy to see another L&M week coming up. Maybe somebody will do “I Am the Walrus” (“crabalocker fishwife pornographic priestess boy you been a naughty girl you let your knickers down”)

I can see Jason Castro doing “Blackbird”. Or Michael Johns, “Oh Darling”.

Bottom 3 singouts would make sense if they effected the voting. Boot-ee singout makes sense as a Farewell. But we’ve got: “You hated it last night – here they are again! Your Worst Three!!” yay.

Wish someone had the skills to do Blackbird a la Bobby McFerrin!
That singout was mean. To the audience. Maybe the producers were really annoyed that anyone voted for Kristy at all - “Here! Take that!”

I finally figured who Carly reminds me of – Maya Rudolph from Saturday Night Live. I think it’s the nose.

What was Carly wearing on Tuesday? It looked like she took a blue satin sack, cut out some armholes, looped a drawstring through another hole and slipped it over her head.
