Where are you getting Rachael? Wouldn’t Ruby be more appropo? Thankfully, they will not have a swimsuit competition…
Oooh! Oooh! I know this, because I had to have it explained to me recently at a restaurant.
A Rachel is a sandwich - the same thing as a reuben, only made with turkey instead of with corned beef.
I’d never heard of it a few weeks ago, and it did take me a minute to get **Cricetus’s ** joke.
As far as AI goes, I’m pulling for Bo and Nadia. If dragongirl’s spoiler is true, ConstantSleaze has picked a song that is so cheesy it makes me cringe even when the original artist sings it. Maybe it will be the song that gets him voted off!
SS
And I thought I was the only person who thought this! Uncanny, isn’t it? She even has similar dance moves.
You’re in a class of at least three. I mentioned the resemblance at the tail end of the 3/7 Idol thread, and Good Egg agreed.
Great list, Biggirl! Especially for Carrie, Mikkalah, Vonsell and Scott. But I’ve got to change some stuff:
Bo - Paint it Black
Anwar - In My Life
Nadia - Dancin’ in the Streets
Nikko - Pretty Woman (mercy!)
Anthony - How Can I Be Sure
Lindsay - The Hunter Gets Captured by the Game
Boob Girl - Somebody to Love
I still say Constantine should sing “Having My Baby,” seeing as how I’d really, really like to see him gone.
I started a who should sing what thread last week and it sank like a tungsten brick.
Nah, Connie needs to cover Dizzy by Tommy Roe. Or Sugar Sugar by the Archies. Endless possibilities. If I may, there is a thread in cafe where I am still asking your opinions on bestlooking of the final 12.
I’m not a big Morrison fan either, but I just had a vision of Bo absolutely rocking the living hell out of Break On Through. Daaamn…I’d pay good money to see that.
Hmmm…I seem to remember Seacrest talking with one of the performers when they finished singing a few weeks ago. Something about “…and you only had today to learn this song, because we just found out this morning that we couldn’t get the rights for you to sing your original choice”. Am I remembering this correctly?
Ok, I gots me some rambling type questions.
Yes “60s” is too huge to properly be a theme or category, but I think if they have a MoTown night coming up later in the season, they’ll discourage/forbid most MoTown songs now, right? Same as Carrie might maybe oughta save Patsy for the inevitable country night, I’m pretty sure in-season repeats are frowned upon, although it seems we’re fated to hear a number of the same songs year after year. So even if they call it “60s” it won’t necessarily mean anything from the decade.
Disco night was exactly that, not just 70s night. Remember Josh Gracin’s particularly uninspired rendition of “Celebrate” by Kool & the Gang? He obviously didn’t like that song choice, somewhere along the line I got the impression themed nights had specific song lists for the contestants to choose from, otherwise surely Josh would have sung a different tune.
On that note, I’ve always wondered who gets first dibs on any one song, is it perhaps a weekly floating seniority first based on the previous week’s top vote-getting?
Anyone see Mario on Regis this morning? He was trying to cutely side-step the direct questions and came off rather poorly, some mangled metaphor about being in a relationship but then just falling out of love, while simultaneously protesting that the entire AI experience was positive. He claimed he didn’t know his mother was going to get scooped by reporters, and had been just oh so busy he hadn’t had an opportunity to clue her with a five minute phone call before alerting the media to his dropping out.
Very dorky, why do appearances and not cook up better answers for the inevitable questions? :dubious:
Lets get it started!
Well, they have a bigger band. Hope its better.Okay, they just made Bo and Constantine do the twist. My eyes!
Isn’t The Twist from the '50s.
Jessica Sierra-You Better Shop Around. Not bad, it shows her voice and its not bad either.
Anwar Robinson-A House Is Not A Home.
This is weird, their lips don’t look matched up with their voices, but its live.
No—early '60s.
Mikhala Gordon-Son of a Preacher Man. What the hell happened to her face? She looks 35 and who did that make up???
Constantine-You’ve Made Me So Very Happy. Its a good song, but the original was much better.
My ears must be on backwards. I thought that was Anwar’s worse performance and Mikalah’s best. Also Constantine’s best.
This show is not going like I want it to.
I heard a few stories that said it was taped yesterday.
Lindsey Cardinale-Knock on Wood.Meh.
I predict that Lindsey will be on a plane very soon. That sucked.
