Amen. If we just had to listen to Fantasia bleat, at least she could have bleated Boogie-woogie Bugle Boy.
BTW, Queen as big band was not Fantasia’s idea. She did the Michael Buble version of that song. It’s better when he does it. (And I *like * Fantasia!)
My mom and my aunt will be in the audience tonight. Wave to them.
Bottom 2: Jasimine and La Toya.
Going home: La Toya!
Get your outrage ready.
Fantasia’s performances were a mixed bag tonight. I hated the first song, but loved the second.
My husband noticed that her songs in the review were completely different performances than the ones on the show. The kicker is that she is holding the mike in the Queen song, which she never did in the performance. My guess is that since the review was immediately after her performance, they knew they wouldn’t have time to edit so they used a dress rehearsal.
One wonders how Jasmine still survives and George got the boot… 4 women in the top 4.
One wonders how they can start with 70,000 people and end up with a final four this boring. I might have to root for Fantasia as the only one who’s a little bit interesting, if I can bring myself around to liking her.
One wonders how the phone lines from Hawaii can handle the strain.
I can’t really argue with this week’s vote. It’s one of those votes where someone else probably deserved it more, but they both deserve it, so what difference does it make what order they go in?
For the first 4 weeks or so I thought George was a contender. But he never elevated his game beyond that, and in fact slipped a bit. Momentum matters, and he had none. He’d been unremarkable for awhile and I thought he was mediocre last night. Too bad, I liked him.
I agree that the judges’ affinity for Diana is puzzling. She has skills, but no panache; every single thing she does is a beauty pageant bit.
You are so right about the Boring Final Four! I simply don’t care any more. And I think the judges are kicking themselves for putting this season’s final 12 together. They have not done their jobs well to end up with this lackluster quartet. And I feel bad for the folks who will have to create albums and careers for whoever wins and/or comes in second.
And yet. . . we all watch! Doh!
I liked George’s farewell version of Wonderful World much better than the big band version last night. Funny how when the pressure is off, they often sing much better.
I think they’ve talked her up because they are more focused on other contestants they want kicked off the show. When it’s to the final three, they’ll turn on her faster than hungry pit bulls.
I’m not thrilled with the bottom two, but since I don’t think either of them deserve to win, I guess it’s fine. I’m happy Jasmine is still there, but even as a fan I won’t be upset if she leaves in any of the coming weeks. She’s my personal number two (to LaToya), but I know I’m in the minority.
Count me among those who don’t get the love for Diana. She’s not good. I just can’t think of a single relevant aspect of this competition where she is at or near the top. But, she obviously has her fans, not least of which is Randy, who can explain his affinity for her about as well as my desk stapler could.
George was pretty good tonight. I won’t miss his incredibly awkward nature, but he was decent to listen to.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve become a Diana fan, without shame.
At this point, LaToya is still my favorite. She’s beautiful, has a great voice, and she’s done every style well – including country. But sometimes she seems too perfect and too planned.
Diane has an “I don’t care if I not hip, slick and cool” attitude. She is a real performer who actually looks like she is having a good time on stage. A trooper as the old-timers would say. And she has a pretty good voice too.
I’d like to see them as the final two.
Never said Fantasia was perfect, but I considered her second song flawless.
George was robbed. Jasmine should have been gone weeks ago and she should have been gone this week.
Yeah, very boring Final 4. Jasmine sucks and should have gone a while back. LaToya is technically great, but lacks personality. Fantasia has some personality, but her voice I find grating. Diana is cute, sings well enough, and I wouldn’t mind seeing her win, but she just isn’t as good as LaToya at singing.
Count me as another who thinks all the remaining contestants are boring. The only reason I plan to watch the rest of the show is to surprise myself with my complete inability to predict in what order the kids are booted off.
