tells me he has no clue what the hell he’s talking about. The two people who can accurately be considered as “constantly” in the bottom three are John and Diana… both white. IIRC, this was the first trip to the bottom three for LaToya (and possibly Fantasia).

Wrong. John, Diana and Fantasia have each had only one stint in the bottom three. LaToya’s been in it once, and last week was Jennifer’s third time. Which is something I wish people would have factored in before they started calling for John’s head on a pike.
When this story first broke, it was reported that the bad weather around Chicago at the time disrupted telephone and electrial lines suffuiciently that up to 20,000 potential votes could not be cast. At the same time, another report of this same story stated that American Idol has a predominently black audience. However, another report says “blacks only make up 19% of the viewing households” screws up that one.
Randy Jackson claims this is a talent show and it’s not about popularity. Well, if that’s true, why does the show leave the decisions to the viewers? If this were a true talent contest, Simon Cowell would be everyone’s hero. He’s the only one who consistently calls it as he sees it.
