Boy was I naive. I figured David Cook was one of those people I loved that wouldn’t go very far, because no one else would like him. I’ll gain a lot of points for him!! I used to do so well with these…
Well, the only people who come out of this week without picking up many points look to be Liberal(who got it on the nose. Congrats!) followed by accidental yuppie, Sternvogel and Reloy3. The rest of us picked up 2 points or more.

I may be lucky and get the next two right (Syesha at 5, and Brooke at 4), but with Jason and David C. hanging around, it’s not looking so good for me.
No one had the remaining five in their top five, though.
Carly’s leaving killed me. I had her picked to win. And to make matters worse, I had David Cook going out this week. So from here on in, I’m going to be hurtin’ more and more.
Would be interesting to see the standings with all the “pending points” (from people we picked to leave early who are still lingering) added in. Not that it’ll help me much, but I’m curious. Curious, but too lazy to actually figure it out. And maybe people like staying in suspense about it anyway…

Sorry for the delay in my weekly update…been busy getting this place ready for our Open House yesterday. But we’re back in business now, so let’s check out the standings.
Liberal did the best this week, picking up zero points for his exact pick of Carly’s booting. Several others only picked up one or two points for that, which lead to several changes on the scoreboard:
Jumping up to first place is Reloy3 with 13 points.
Rachael Rage and The Unkempt One’s 14 points give them a share of second place.
Hal Briston and Drain Bead split fourth place with 15 points each.
Sixth place goes to DudleyGarrett and the SDMB Mean, each with 16 points.
Sam Stone and accidentalyuppie head into eighth place with 17 points.
Tenth place sees Kolak of Twilo and Liberal with 18 points apiece.
With 20 points each Blue Mood, RachelChristine and yellowval share twelfth place.
Fifteenth place has Gorgonzola and his 21 points.
gonzoron, Mahaloth and Pleonast keep their tie going, now in sixteenth place with 22 points each.
Biggirl stays in nineteenth place with 25 points.
And keeping the back end tidy is Sternvogel and his 33 points.
Yeah! Very temporarily on top again.

Well, when I look at the possible points we all have out there to get, if I were a betting man I would say it looks to me like the smart money to win this thing would be on…

Yes, he is. And he’s got a good chance to get the last four in order: 4 Syesha, 3 Cook, 2 Jason, and 1 Archuleta. But even with a perfect score here on out, it’s still not enough to take the lead.
I would agree with the idea he has a good chance of getting them in order if I actually believed there was a universe where Jason could outlast David Cook.
C’mon…what do you think the odds of that are?
Weren’t we all thinking that there was no way Chris Daughtry was finishing 4th two years ago?
He wasn’t the undisputed front-runner though. A lot of people liked him, but a lot of people didn’t (lots of talk of goat-bleating on this board, as I remember). At the time, it was a more even field - in terms of talent - between Chris, Elliott, Katharine and Taylor.
You may be right, but I don’t have a lot of faith that the AI voters will choose the better contestant. 
YES! I put so much time and effort into making those choices…I am glad to see that all of that work is paying off.
