The final of the UK open music talent show, X Factor, took place last night. (The US equivalent is American Idol - and Simon Cowell is a judge on both shows.)

Leon, a former shop assistant, won and is set for a UK Xmas no 1 and a pop career. He’s certainly got a pleasant voice and impressed Michael Buble, who invited Leon on stage for a duet. :cool:

OK, it’s good to see new talent. :slight_smile:

But I liked the acts that came 2nd + 3rd even more, so my questions are:

In these talent shows, how well do the runners-up do?
Will they have a career too?

I don’t watch the show, but I am aware that for one season, the runner-up (Clay Aiken) has had a much more active career than the winner (Ruben Studdard).
